The range spans upholstered, wooden, metal and mixed-material frames in a modern European design language, with silhouettes kept clean and proportions kept light. Fabrics run from boucle and velvet through structured weaves and leatherette, in a palette built to sit comfortably with neutral and darker interiors alike.

Below is a guide to the sub-collections within this category, what distinguishes each one, and how to identify the right chair for your space.

What This Collection Includes

Living room seating divides broadly into chairs chosen for presence and chairs chosen for comfort, and our range covers both ends along with everything between.

On the design-led side sit our accent chairs and modern chairs, where the frame or the upholstery carries a distinct visual character. On the comfort side sit lounge chairs, relaxing chairs and recliners, built with deeper seats and greater back support for extended use.

Between them are the pieces that serve both purposes. Arm chairs, wooden armchairs and swivel chairs offer structured comfort without the visual weight of a full recliner.

The complete range sits within our broader living room furniture category, which pairs seating with the tables, storage and lighting designed to accompany it.

Accent Chairs for Character and Contrast

Accent chairs are chosen for the visual interest they bring to a room. Where a sofa is usually specified in a neutral tone, an accent chair is where colour, texture and form can be introduced deliberately.

Our accent chairs range covers upholstered barrel and shell forms, cane and rattan backs, and frames in powder-coated metal and solid wood. Boucle, velvet and textured weave finishes dominate the upholstered options, with several designs available in tonal and contrast combinations.

These chairs work well positioned at an angle to a sofa, in a window corner, or as a pair flanking a console. Because they carry the visual focus of a seating group, we recommend selecting the accent chair after the sofa has been finalised rather than alongside it.

For designs where the frame itself is the feature, our modern chairs selection focuses on sculptural profiles in metal, wood and moulded forms.

Lounge Chairs Built for Long Hours

Lounge chairs differ from accent chairs in construction rather than appearance. The seat sits lower, the depth is greater, and the backrest is angled to support the spine through extended periods of sitting.

Our lounge chairs range covers fully upholstered forms, cane and rattan constructions, and designs with a solid wood frame and removable cushioning. Within it, the living room lounge chairs sub-collection is scaled specifically for apartment living rooms, with a footprint suited to spaces that also need to accommodate a sofa and circulation.

For a complete reading or relaxation setup, our chairs with ottoman range pairs the chair with a matched footrest, so the seat height and upholstery are consistent across both pieces.

The wooden lounge chairs sub-collection combines a solid timber frame with upholstered seat and back cushions. These designs suit interiors where a fully upholstered piece would feel visually heavy.

Arm Chairs and Wooden Armchairs

Arm chairs occupy the middle ground in living room seating. They offer defined arm support and a more structured posture than a lounge chair, while remaining lighter in scale than a recliner.

Our arm chairs range includes upholstered wing and club forms, cane-backed designs and slimmer profiles suited to compact spaces. Several are available with removable covers, which simplifies long-term maintenance.

The wooden armchairs sub-collection focuses on solid frames in teak, sheesham and acacia. Timber construction is the most durable option across our seating range, and these designs are built to be reupholstered rather than replaced. Where budget allows, we consider a solid wood frame the most sound long-term investment in living room seating.

Joinery quality is worth noting when comparing options. Mortise and tenon and dowelled corner construction hold their integrity far better than stapled assemblies.

Swivel and Revolving Chairs for Open Layouts

Open-plan living spaces, where the living room runs into the dining area, benefit from seating that can change orientation without being repositioned.

Our swivel chairs range covers upholstered forms on weighted metal bases. Within it, swivel lounge chairs combine rotation with the deeper seat depth of a lounge chair, while our swivel sofa chair designs are broader across the seat and suited to more relaxed postures.

Base construction matters in this category. Weighted metal disc bases rotate smoothly on tiled and stone flooring and on low-pile rugs. We recommend positioning swivel seating clear of deep-pile rugs, where the movement is restricted.

For lighter, more compact rotating seating, our revolving chairs range works well in study corners and secondary seating positions within a living space.

Recliners, Rocking Chairs and Relaxing Chairs

Some seating is specified purely for comfort, and our range treats that as a distinct requirement rather than a compromise.

Our recliners are built with wall-hugging mechanisms that require minimal clearance behind the chair, which makes them workable in apartment living rooms where a traditional reclining action would not fit. Upholstery options include fabric and leatherette, both selected for use in Indian conditions.

Rocking chairs serve a different function. The gentle motion suits balcony-adjacent positions, nurseries and quiet corners, and the designs in our range keep the frame slim so the piece reads as furniture rather than equipment.

Our relaxing chairs sub-collection groups everything built primarily for extended sitting, including reclining and fixed-back forms with generous cushioning.

Where a household includes elderly family members, seat height and arm support are the two specifications worth prioritising above appearance.

Stools, Poufs and Flexible Seating

Living rooms in Indian homes frequently serve more than one function, and additional seating that can be moved, stacked or stored is often more useful than a second fixed chair.

Our poufs range covers upholstered and woven forms that tuck beneath a coffee table and can be brought out when required. They double as footrests and as informal side surfaces when topped with a tray.

Stools offer a firmer top and work equally well as occasional seating or as a compact surface beside a chair. Materials across the range include ceramic, solid wood, metal and upholstered forms.

For occasions where additional seating needs proper back support, our stool chairs combine a compact footprint with a backrest.

Flexible seating is worth specifying early rather than adding later. It changes how many people a living room can comfortably hold without altering the permanent layout.

Bar, Cafe and Balcony Seating for Adjoining Spaces

Many living rooms open onto a balcony or incorporate a bar counter, and maintaining a consistent design language across those thresholds makes the whole space read as one.

Our bar chair range covers counter- and bar-height seating in metal, wood, and upholstered finishes, with both backed and backless forms. Seat height should be matched to your counter, and each product page lists the relevant specification.

Cafe chairs suit smaller seating pockets, breakfast corners and secondary positions within a larger living space. The designs are compact and lighter to move than full dining seating.

Where the living room opens onto outdoor space, our balcony chairs range is constructed from weather-resistant materials including powder-coated aluminium, teak, acacia and synthetic all-weather rope over metal frames. Selecting a finish that visually extends your indoor seating outward.

Upholstery, Frames and Finishes

Material selection determines how a chair performs over time, and the Indian climate places specific demands on both frame and upholstery.

Across our upholstered range, textured weaves and boucle finishes conceal dust more effectively than flat-woven cottons, which is a practical consideration in most Indian cities. Velvet delivers depth of colour and benefits from regular brushing. Leatherette offers easier maintenance than natural leather in unconditioned rooms.

Frames across the collection are built in solid hardwood, powder-coated metal, and combinations of the two. Solid timber remains dimensionally stable through humidity variation, where engineered board is prone to swelling at the joints. Cane and rattan elements are used for their lightness and breathability, and are woven tightly to hold their tension.

Where available, we note removable covers in the product details. Covers that can be taken off and cleaned significantly extend the practical life of an upholstered chair.

Choosing the Right Chair for Your Space

The most useful starting point is how the chair will be used, not how it looks against a mood board.

For seating that is occupied briefly and frequently, such as when guests visit, an accent chair or arm chair is the appropriate specification. For seating occupied for longer stretches, a lounge chair, recliner or relaxing chair with greater seat depth and back angle will serve better.

Layout is the second consideration. Chairs positioned at an angle to a sofa create a more natural conversation arrangement than chairs placed directly opposite. A pair of chairs establishes a defined seating group where a single chair tends to read as supplementary.

Circulation is the third. Leave clear walking space in front of any seating position, and confirm that a chair with a reclining or swivel action has the clearance it requires.

Pairing Chairs With the Rest of the Room

A chair functions best as part of a considered group rather than as a standalone purchase.

Each seating position benefits from its own surface. Our side tables for living room range covers marble, wood and metal options scaled to sit beside a chair without crowding it. Where a shared surface serves the whole group, round and oval designs within our coffee tables range work more comfortably with angled seating than rectangular forms.

A rug positioned to sit beneath the front legs of both the sofa and the chairs will anchor the arrangement visually. Lighting at seated level, rather than only from the ceiling, completes the corner.

Our full living room furniture range is designed to be combined this way, with finishes carried across seating, tables and storage.

Frequently Asked Questions

What is the difference between an accent chair and a lounge chair?

An accent chair is specified primarily for its visual contribution to a room and suits shorter periods of sitting. A lounge chair is built for comfort, with a lower seat, greater depth and a more reclined back angle. If the chair will be used for reading, watching television or extended relaxation, the lounge chair is the appropriate choice. For a corner that needs visual definition and occasional seating, the accent chair works better.

Which upholstery works best for Indian living rooms?

Textured weaves and boucle perform well because they conceal dust more effectively than flat-woven fabrics. Leatherette is easier to maintain than natural leather in rooms without consistent air conditioning. Velvet offers excellent colour depth and needs regular brushing. Wherever possible, we recommend selecting a design with removable covers, since this makes routine cleaning considerably simpler over the life of the chair.

Do swivel chairs work on tiled floors and rugs?

Yes. Our swivel designs use weighted metal disc bases that rotate smoothly across tile, stone and low-pile rugs without catching. Deep-pile and heavily textured rugs will restrict the movement and may wear at the contact point, so we recommend positioning the chair just clear of the rug edge in those cases. Base weight also keeps the chair stable during use.
